What are some of the courses/tutorial/sources that I can learn from? what step should be taken?

The leading force in Artificial Intelligence is NeuroEvolution. It's a combination of Neural Networking and Genetic Algorithms. There was a paper written on the NEAT implementation from MIT, it's a pretty good read.
