what is the use of AWS in web development?

AWS is a cloud service provider. For a simple website perspective, you can host it on a VM called EC2 instance, use autoscaling, use its database service to host your db, control the networking using its SDN technology called VPC and do a lot more. Depends upon your requirements. There are other cloud providers as well like Azure, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean etc. But amazon is the cloud giant and the most sophisticated cloud service out there.
