Is it true that C language is unavoidable for any developer/programmer?

A friend told me learning Python is waste of time because at one time or another, I will need C language in my developer carrier. I need advices from you.

Learn Python and develop in Python. Learn C and develop in C. Learn whatever language you feel comfortable with and develop in that particular language. Your preference and choices dictates which language you will need, not some cosmic force from outer space, and certainly not your friend.

Addition to that C will give you more brainstorming ideas like memory management because C language was introduced for operating system and still it is preferred by many big Universities.

C may help u in understanding more memory concepts but no its not necessary. if u dont need to directly work with memory or similar things usually programmed in C then learn ur language in which u r comfortable and carry on!

You should simply choose which language you find more interesting. You can, of course, listen to your friend, but are they someone who is a very experienced programmer? I suggest that you learn something you find more interesting, so you take interest in coding.
