What type of engineering you doing? In school, the main ones that I learned were C++, C#, and Java. So, you can't really go wrong with learning those while you're figuring out what you're doing. Of the three, I'd start with C++.

Okay, I understand better now. You're wondering what you should make now, right? Well, what is your long term goals? And are you focused on a certain side of engineering or open to whatever? There is so many directions you can go with programming, so I would start with something that stimulates your mind, challenges you to become better, and is something that you enjoy. Nothing better than "working" on stuff that makes you feel truly alive inside. Give me some more information on what your goals/dreams are, and I'll help you figure out a good place to start with it, if you want.
