Is it necessary to learn ruby on rails ?

if your going to do back-end stuff then learn otherwise it is fine if you choose to learn something else like python, JavaScript (node.js), PHP for your backend-end server language.

knowing a new Language is good. ruby on rails is popular for its simplicity it wouldn't hurt to learn it. you can choose to learn. PS: I don't know much about it's advantages in employment. it's easier to maintain ruby code so some employers may ask for it.

I know php and try node.js but is it better to use ruby on rails for particular website ? Does that give us a job avantage ? PS: thank you for your answer
