Why are the challenges mostly Math related?

Question

One who knows how to program but lacks the capability to understand simple arithmetic or is unable to quickly solve the arithmetic in their head will have much more trouble in the challenges and will often have to guess the answer.

Conclusion even if you have great knowledge about the programming language, you will still lose more rounds.

Anyone else here facing the same problem or am I surounded by Math wizards here?
