How to improve yourself as a programmer and what effort should be take for that??

i just want that to be know that how can we improve as a programmer and how we can increase our knowledge to make uniq things i know this community is full of uniq thinker so please guys share your experience by which new members and i will learn something new to improve as programmer

i started programming 6 years ago, after 2 years i left it but i got back to it about a few month ago.
and one thing i can tell u for becoming a unique programmer is that :
u should practice a lot
i mean sololearn an other websites teach u about 60% of programming the rest i up to you,
for that 40% left u got to practice and throughout time u will get better and better.
all it takes is time and persistence.
