The frame tag is used in cooperation with frameset tag, frameset is used to split the browser window into rows and columns, and the frame is used to display content inside the columns of a certain row. You can read about it in the following link at the bottom.

NOTE: The frameset along with frame are deprecated (marked as obsolete) and is not supported by HTML5, which is the current standard for web markup language.
