Is quick typing skill required to be a successiful coder or programmer

how does ur typing speed affect ur programming skilks and efficiency what are ur suggestion should someone first do typing course and speed building b4 getting into coding or he or she can improve as he keeps coding Though programming is thinking not typing..*_*...

Just improve as you go along, no need to stop everything and waste time; do it at same time. "Though programming is thinking not typing..*_*..." ^If you think about it, programming is a LOT of typing. lol You'll be typing a lot more than you're thinking. It isn't required to be able to type fast, but it is certainly useful to be able to. You save a lot of time if you're able to accomplish what you're doing faster. As well, when you're able to type fast, you're also able to correct your typos/mistakes quicker too. So to answer your question overall, work on both at the same time. Learn how to type properly, it pays off.

I agree with Netkos and in my opinion fast typing like shown on TV shows is fake and can be dangerous, specially if you are working from terminals. The fact of being a lightning typist do not make typo-error free one. I prefer to do it right slowly at the first try rather than spending too much time correcting Typo errors and side effects of them. Hope it helps.
