1. learn html and css design and building website by JOHN DUCKET , download pdf version, search on google and download, 2. learn basic clearly and start working on small project like creating website and layout 3. Learn each and every concept by writing code in ide checking output in browser 4. i will recommend sublime text , it is great, small and have support for faster web development packages like emmet and and other 5. Later download JAVASCRIPT AND JQUERY BY JOHN DUCKET, another awesome piece and work on it . since html5 , html following the trail of JavaScript so it is required to know JavaScript to understand html5 complete features like api and other , without knowing JavaScript web development will be incomplete

The best way to learn html(or anything for that matter) is consistent, deliberate, practice. Learning programming can be daunting because it's quite literally another language. HTML is one of the easier languages to get started with because it involves primarily using <tags> to design the layout of a webpage(very simplified explanation). My advice to you if you want to become an expert in html is set aside time at least once a day to practice writing html code. It could be 5 minutes, or 2 hours, that is up to you. Scheduling time out of your day to practice will help you improve much faster than if you were to only do it "when you feel like it". Last but not least, focus your mind on the process and not your results. we oftentimes get in our own way of learning something new by doubting ourselves, even before we have really started(I have and still fall into this way of thinking from time to time). I wish you the best of luck on your journey to expertise! :)
