Some companies have already built their project in angular js. So even though angular 4 is latest, company needs a candidate who can handle their projects which r in previous version of angular js.

the biggest problem with angular 2/4 are too much breaking updates it is fine if you are working on small projects but it will be pain in a** for big projects, for example i was working on projects which uses material 2 and recently in version beta 10 they just seperated all elements in their module and non material part in CDK package to take advantage of angular 4's tree shaking. this will add extra time to your projects. Angular 2/4 is much better than react in every aspect but there are only 2 main problems with angular 2/4 is breaking updates and typescript. JavaScript developers hates typescript but i am big fan of typescript.
