i will answer to each of your sentence
"i absolutely love to program, free time and all but i don't feel solo learn teaches everything."
well that's great that u love to do it, and yes solo learn might not the place u can sharpen your every skill but honestly speaking the community here is very helpful and passionate, sometimes u need to surround yourself such community.
"problem is is i have huge gaps in knowledge i cant seem to fill."
here u need to figure out what kind of knowledge is vital for you, that matters to u in present, past and will in future. In other words, not every tiny piece of knowledge is vital for everybody. "Google" might be the answer for that just try it
"so if i really love to program i should say screw it and go to school? whats you're guys' professional opinion on this?"
Now here its a very interesting thing i wanna let u know. It's YOU who want to do it, it's "PROGRAMMING" u want to master
now did i mention "SCHOOL" anywhere? coz it has nothing do with programming(considering the fact that a programmer doesn't become an excellent programmer in school, they don't teach it that way but a programmer becomes by doing stuff his/her own.) I, and there r lots of other people are example of that.
But of course companies and organisations will require you have a degree or certifications in the area you r applying for
I only recommend going to school bcoz of this

Sololearn doesn't teach everything, only the basics. You'll want to seek other resources and learn from them also.
Honestly, I only recommend going to school if you're lazy and need someone to tell you to read a book, which I assume you already know how to do. I say lazy because most people go to school so they're forced to act disciplined since they're paying a lot of money to read books.
If you have the internet, then you have MORE resources available to you than ANY college/university will have in this field. With the internet, if you don't learn what you want to learn, it's because you chose to not learn it. On top of that, you have access to MILLIONS of people that are willing to help you, rather than just 1 professor and maybe tutors. Trust me, different perspectives is an amazing thing, especially in this field.
This is what I do. I go to a college/university website and I look at the courses for the degree program I'm interested in. I write down a list of all the courses. Then I go onto google.com and type "<course name> pdf ebook free" - usually there are a LOT of various books on each course and then I read all of them to obtain as much information as I can on the subject. Not only do I obtain a BETTER education that way, but I do it in a fraction of the time. Rather than 4 years for a BS, I can do it in 6 months, just as an example.
Now to the next concern that many have. Can I get a job without a degree? Absolutely. I've been doing this professionally for a decade and I don't have a degree in it, 100% self-learned. My experience and skill sets is more than enough to speak for me, so I don't need a fancy, expensive piece of paper to pretend to represent myself. Work on your communication skills. When you get an interview, present your skill set to the employer and you can easily obtain a job.
Best of luck to ya!

If you have extra time and money to waste, go to school. Otherwise you should as a beginner focus on one programming language at a time and read and practice on it. I am sure after a year you will be fine with learning every other programming language by yourself.

Trust me, college (in this field) is basically throwing money and time out the window. However, if it's something that -you- need in order to make yourself learn what you need, then I suppose it's better than not learning at all.
This concept doesn't apply to all fields; if you're a surgeon, I'd prefer you had a college education/hands-on training with other doctors than doing something you watched on youtube. lol
As for money, I make just as much money as the people around me with degrees. Experience and what you bring to the table is what's of value. Again, this works out better in this field than it does in other fields.

thanks guys, ya i really don't have money and have allot going on right now i just know its my passion and once i have more than an lg stylo or various other androids and the occasional library computer ill be more happy. and thats right going to collage would be easier because the whole reason id be there would be to learn without as much free time as i do now. i just know people who go to collage make more but that seems to be real spotty in this field.

Read and exercise, exercise and read.. and discover new feature and new languages..and read again..it's a circle.. Finally in my opinion the most important thing is not school but the knowlege. the most important thing is make exercise, try to understand what you write, and to think in other situation you can use the code..

All the knowledge of humanity can be access by a device as small as your palm. in other words, go on internet and go nuts. you can self teach yourself pretty much everything on there.
I am a student and college is really for that piece of paper called degree. Learning itself costs nothing.
