What is the future of programming given the high level of automation ?Will there be enough jobs for programmers in 10 years ?

This is really a logical question. I think, there will always be enough and good jobs for programmers.

The parts of my being that holds my creativity and other things that push the boundaries of logic & rationale probably won't ever be automated. For myself, my current focus and future focus involves gaming, virtual reality, AI, and things of that nature, so I'm not worried about anything replacing me. However, if one day a machine replaces what I do, then I'll be the happiest boy on the planet. Why? That means we've reached a really awesome point in our history, and that also means I probably have a lot of cool gadgets to play with at that point. :D

I think apart from the creative/arts and medical people programmers are the least likely to get automated away. It's going to happen eventually, but lets just say I wouldn't choose to become a taxi cab driver over a programmer these days.
