Is there a way to make my own lamguage?

I wonder where the developers of programming languages got their source code from. Did they use older languages to create their own? And if so, how?

Most languages created today are modifications or updates of other simpler basic language! There are 10000+ languages so who says yours can't be one of them?

here's a starting point: https://ruslanspivak.com/lsbasi-part1/ I know it's an interpreter he's telling how to make but a lot of the principles are the same

Yeah it's not easy... it'll take time...lots of time of yours. But if you are devoted to it, perhaps you have your own programming language in the end, who knows. try it man ! then only you'll come to know you can or can't.
