If you have the desire and patience, age won't matter. You can be 100 and still can learn. One thing though, once you have spent a year or two people start thinking that they know programming and start becoming arrogant. Don't be that because there is a lot to learn and still knowing nothing.

There is no right age.It all depends on how much your brain can process at that age!A sololearn Pegasus is somewhere below 14 I think and he's a good coder.Im 16 and also a good coder soo there is no right age

I started coding at maybe 6 or 7 years old. I know that I was a "noob" in programming and I wasn't mature to take programming seriously but I had fun. It was just an entertainment at beginning, I look at the websites source code then I try to understand the structure of the pages and how did they made each element... then I started learning front-end development without much doubt, I think the big mistake that I did is that I didn't took any courses to speed up my learning process in a determined path. I was a good programmer with some knowledge in a variety of languages but it took me a long time due to the lack of the basics. also, I didn't found any certificate or diploma in my portfolio.
Conclusion:
Age doesn't matter, you just need the to learn EFFICIENTLY and always PRACTICE.

Physical age doesn't matter, but you have to get up to a mental age when you can read & write basic English, think logically, have some grab over algebra & discrete mathematics & learn to use a PC

Lool I know my own kids are going to learn how to code from like 7. Even if they're just playing with it and don't really care much about it. It'll stick eventually 😂😂

The moment someone can read and right. This is the right age to start. So, if that age is 5, its doesn't mean that has to go learn php or Java. The child starts gradually like learning how basic algorithms work, learning basic examples of statements like if and for statement. Then gradually over time, that person would have developed to a full fledged developer maybe even by age 12.
My point simply is that as far you can read and write, you are already of age to start programming because programming has stages and the early the better.
