Why is code good for the world

I don't think code is in itself good or bad for the world. Code can be used for good and for evil, to help and to harm. Just consider malware, or how social networks allow the propagation of misinformation.

I think you mean the results of code... I guess it facilitates lots of activities. Ecommerce, self-driving cars, presentations, communication (social networks...), work in general, AI, big data, machine learning... Everybody should learn how to code and make his own projects become true.
