in your opinion, what do you need to learn before starting to program?

From what I see, the biggest thing to learn before you start programming is how to use google to do research and locate resources. Many people immediately appear in the discussion area to ask something they should have been able to easily search for first, or to ask things as if we're magical beings, "What is my grandma making for dinner tonight?" - No clue, go ask your Grandma. Outside of SoloLearn, this skill is VERY important. As they say, if you don't have the resources then be resourceful. If you're able to find what you're looking for quickly and effectively, then you can easily resolve issues you run into and you'll be able to easily find resources to improve your skills. This also goes hand-in-hand with your ability for utilizing logic and problem-solving skills. Nothing wrong with asking other humans, because they're also a resource, but it shouldn't be your first opinion and you should put in some sort of effort on your part first, lest you want to always rely on someone holding your hand.

It's okay for you to say, I don't get easily offended and I don't own nuclear weapons. lol I'm curious to know yours (and the world's) opinion on that. Last thing I'd want to do is misrepresent what most Americans are actually like. If you mean going to where the resources are when we don't have them, then yeah, that may be true... although we go and take resources even if we have them already. If you're implying that I'm an idiot though, then that just means most people of the world are brain dead. :) Also, no need for hope bro. If you stay patient and consistent, I'm positive that you'll become an amazing programmer. Psychology is a very important thing also, so always make sure that you're speaking greatness upon yourself. People who think they're great are people that try to do great things, and people with hope give themselves the option of not being great. So, who is great? You are Jack. :D You've no need for hope because you're someone that is going to do everything that's necessary to ensure your greatness. Best of luck to you man!

@Vijay I know right !? @Netkos is my top SL pick for president anyday. But he won't answer you. He's like Batman. Comes in gets the job done and onto the next thread. You can't keep following all the threads you post in when you answer 50 questions a day. + I think he actually has a life on top of it...
