HTML changes...
I remember when a break was tagged as "</br>", so now I see that a break is tagged as "<br/>". Forgive my ignorance or loss of time since the last time I used HTML tags, is this because of the new version of HTML?

Line break tag is a unpaired tag, it has no ending pair, the change came with XHTML, XHTML requires tags to be well paired, so they came up with that style for all unpaired tags, since then all unpaired tags are styled from <x> into <x />, x here, is the tag identifier.
