Regarding HTML and HTML5

Is it worth it to study HTML instead of just straight up going for HTML5 ? I know the latter is what's more popular nowadays, i'm just wondering if It's the same but with more "content" so to speak.. A bit confused Thank you

HTML5 adds new features and at the same time also removes some obsolete ones, so valid tags in HTML5 are partially inherited from previous HTML standard, I guess learning some of HTML that are still valid (according to HTML5 standard), then advancing to new features introduced with HTML5 would be the proper choice, but that's just me, all decisions are in your hands : )

Well HTML5 is the latest and offers loads of new features that were not available in earlier versions. Only you can make the choice but I would personally learn HTML5 as you will learn everything you need to know whilst also keeping up to date
