Any languages are suitable for beginner to learn.
Choose the one that suit you, the application you most likely to build.

omnipresent: python

web: JavaScript, typescript, cofeescript, etc

data-analytics and machine learning: python & R ( in demand, but not technically scripting language)

sytem -admin: shell scripting, bash script ting, powershell( windows)

disclaimer: JavaScript is not technically a scripting language anymore as all the popular JS engine compiles the full code before executing it.
it's on its way to enter mainstream programming language,

there are tons more that I don't know of, it's like every language for every purpose, so best find the domain where u want to work on
