Why do we use preserve -3d

While making some 3d shapes such as cube.. why do we use {transform-style:preserve-3d} .? why don't we use preserve +3d

. And as I used +3d. it didn't worked?

Actually, what you are talking about isn't "preserve minus 3d". It is "preserve dash 3d".

"preserve-3d" is a value of CSS property transform-style, it preserves the 3d position of the child element.
