Depends on what you are planning to do. If you are planning to be a webpage developer, etc Learn these : HTML , CSS and JS . Maybe SQL. But game programmer : C++/C# (cause they are quite commenly used , which means easier to get replies from questions) Maybe SQL too. Alternative : Java/Javascript Computer scientist : Ruby/Python (cause people commenly use those... so easier to ask questions.)

First: If you aim to develop a website, you need to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript respectively. However, many websites need a data base. Therefore, you should learn SQL Sever or Access (these two are not a programming language but you need to learn them). Second: If you wanna make a Windows software, so you should learn C# or Visual Basic. Third: Maybe you wanna develop an application working on a website or a browser, now you need to learn Java. By the way, you can do more with Java. YOU SHOULD DETECT YOUR AIM FIRST. THEN SEARCH ABOUT THE CORRECT LANGUAGE. To me, starting with Web can enable to ease to learn other language. Just like in real life!

Python is fair simple and easy to learn. You can do a lot of programming in python before you need a more "powerful" and complex language
