I'd say that you can learn more than just basics thanks to the new Learning section, but of course it depends on you... if nothing in the learning section covers what you want to learn, you might want to check out learning material elsewhere.

Mostly the basics, if you want to become professional, you will surely need more experience. If you are more of a hobbyist, then SL may be fine for you.

Between the lessons and experts here, it is completely possible to get much more than the basics. But, it requires effort on your part. Just like people here have started with nothing and have published Android apps within a few months because they were driven.
