Both languages are high level languages. Java runs everywhere, even this app we are using runs on java. Java powers android. Python on the other end is also a powerful language used in data science. Both can't be ignored. It depends with what you want to do.

Different languages use for different purposes. Java has revolutionised in enabling mobile web page. But now needs new program to co opt with modern technologies. Change is constantly happening and it's the driving force of development of human histories.

I think there is no need to compare java & python.... java is widespread & has its own ecosystem... whereas python is used in areas like ML, AI etc..... it's better to know both as currently IT industry in India is going through major changes...

Neither one is better than the other! They are both good programming languages. In different situations someone can prefer one instead of the other. But that doesn't make it better than the other.

Well i will say both languages are good : Both Java and Python are great languages and comparing them is foolish, Now while telling automation, you have to be specific. If scalability, speed and long term code management is your priority, go for Java If you have to build up more code in less time and for better learning curve, go for python .Again remember these two are not the only choices for automation. Still if you want to prefer best among those i will say go with java. See here 10 reasons to learn java:- http://crbtech.in/Java-Training/10-reasons-learn-java/
