There are a lot out there but the most booming in 2018 are defenetly web languages like javascript or swift and even python. Python is now pretty popular because of the AIs or machine learning algorithms that you can build with it.

its up on you to chose but i would recommend javascript

Pick a project to work on. Then research, research, research! You will find out the best technology for it. Even better if you find a mentor that can guide you.

if you aren't sure decide between these two questions. Are you wanting to program websites or applications. (even backend web applications). if the answer is web I'd recommend using. a front end approach. JavaScript, HTML and CSS(not technically languages). if you want to do applications even back end server side apps I'd go with the simplest to learn. PYTHON hands down. it can be used on web development but backend development. hope that helps
