There is a difference between one saying 'Binary' and one saying 'Binary Code'. Yes, binary is a base 2 number system. However, when you use that number system, arrange it intentionally to perform some function, then you've utilized binary code. So you have both a binary number system and binary code which takes advantage of the binary number system. Think of it like morris code. "Morris isn't a code, it's just beeping noises." Yes, but when you arrange those beeping noises intentionally to perform some function that both ends understand, it's Morris code.
