Which Is More Secure

Which operating system has the most effective and efficient security system,Mac, Windows or Linux etc Am working on a project and would love your contributions,Thank you.

It depends!

Off the top of someone's head, most people would probably say, Linux, Mac, Windows in that order.

However, one reason why Macs are more secure, is because less people use Macs, which reduces the incentive for blackhat hackers (Windows = more users = more people to get money off etc!). If more hackers are trying to hack a platform, then more weaknesses will be known... but then more whitehat hackers will also be focusing their efforts to find the weaknesses, so they can report them, to get a security update!

Most cybersecurity is down to user behaviour... not just social engineering, but also laziness, ignorance or human error. e.g. I checked a Mac tonight in a local setting, and it's firewall was disabled... that would make it weaker than a tightened Windows machine that the public couldn't physically access.

Anyway, I'm not an expert by any means, but I know some security. I'll be interested to see what any experts say. Also what version of Linux, what version of Windows? A badly maintained Linux distribution, will be worse than someone who has tightened their Mac or Windows machine!

Again, don't take my word for it... let's hope others chip in, so we can get a more rounded view on the answer.

Mac is much secure system, as the file system and security they use doesn't allow not known sources to enter!
