Coder volunteer for hire

Hello friends,

I'm looking to gain experience so that one day I would get hired as a software developer. What are the non-profit organizations or charities that are accepting volunteers for coding?

Game development. On the side I also create software for telecommunication companies, but that's something I typically do solo because I already do that as my current profession. I'm working on transitioning into game development though and getting an indie company together.
