Such as age, location, gender, purchases, interests, etc. that a person types into a website or app. The data is collected and studied so they can then offer you things that you're interested in. Data Science is mainly extracting information from data in various ways. This isn't necessarily large amounts of data, it could be a single piece of data. The focus is more on extracting very specific information in a very specific way. Technically, Big Data is really a type of Data Science.
