i cannot fully agree with th excellent programmers statement because i had my many experiences with cheap half broken chinese softwares that from a western point of view are substandard most of the time. Of course, there are exceptions but excellence in programming is still not the rule in china.
On the hardware side intead, China's domination is clearer as more and more often happens that the only datasheet you can find about a part, is only in chinese.

its just that a significant portion of all humans alive today live in china, and already existing products have problems launching in china because of the chinese censorship laws
