Visual Basic - Databases

Question

I’m currently taking a class on Visual Basic, CIS176; unfortunately, I’m having trouble with binding data sources or even where to start if I want to connect a source correctly, I.e, excel spreadsheet or an actual database type/file. Any suggestions?

Wow, it has been awhile since I've used Visual Basic in Visual Studio, but I'm pretty sure the menus move around depending on which version you're on. I'm not sure if I can give you a more specific answer, but it's probably okay to get started here:
