1. You will learn how to think logically and mathematically, allowing you to attain a versatile and in demand skillset that will not be fazed out and only aid in any other skills or endeavours you partake in. 2. The tech industry is booming, and there’s no sign of it slowing down anytime soon. 3. Because of 2., programmers/software engineers will be in heavy need for a very long time, and can demand lucrative salaries. 4. Tech companies (at least the good ones) want to keep their programmers/software engineers happy, so they will accommodate you very well (extended vacations, stock options, free food/drink/entertainment, relaxed work attire). 5. There is practically no limit as to which industry you can apply your programming skills to. If some industry hasn’t adapted to the latest technology, it will need to soon or it will not be able to keep up with everyone else. 6. In order to stay relevant, you must always be learning the latest technologies. This will prevent you from being bored and having low job satisfaction.
