What does the ctx. function?

Nothing, because it doesn't exist: in Html there isn't any function... There are functions in javascript ( so, inside Html ), but ctx is not a built-in one, then only three letters from an identifier don't permit to answer to you :P

Can you maybe post more informations about the context ^^ ?

It does nothing. It's just short for "context" and is used with canvas e.g.

It's common practice ;-) Nothing else

It is used as object for canvas element in some internet tutorials but you can replace it with other var name...
