I believe C++ can be used for virtualy everything especially games.

Popular games that use the epic launcher like overwatch are made using the unreal engine.

usually c++ is used to make games and c# is mostly used in the .net technologies. i think c++ is better for games because its faster. but you can still use them both.

c++ + unreal engine = only desktop
c# + unity = 20+ platforms (pc .. mac .. phones .. xbox ... .)
