I want to make a chatbot in python but i dont know where to start.

if you are planning on making a machine learning based chatbot you might want to check sentdex on youtube, he made a chatbot using filtered reddit data.

for basic chatbots, a lot of chat software have APIs for sending and receiving data to/from the server. So you might want to look into those first.
