What is the need of ending tag?

if i delete it in program, it doesn't show any error, so i couldn't getting its importance, plz help

Some elements work without end tag. But never rely on that. Not writing end tag will produce errors.

your document would be a block if your p tag is not closed, or your words would be very big if you forget to close your h1 tag. Test it! :)

as per W3C rule there are some reasons to follow writing program.
As per w3c there are two tags are there
1) paired tag - like <></> (ex:style,form,div,ol,ul,li etc)
2) non-paired tag - like <> (ex:em,span,b,strong etc)
