It is a matter of what you see and what you don't see on the Internet. - There's the frontend : all the code, calculations and command that are responsible for what you see on your browser/application (as Jay said, like HTML, CSS and JavaScript) - There's the backend : all the instructions and data necessary to get what you see are stored somewhere on the server and it is managed by backend technologies for : the data stored (like MySQL) and the instructions on how to use/manage it and bring it to your browser (PHP, Javascript, ...)

Some good answers here. Also, see: https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/1497413/?ref=app There are already similar (if not identical) questions posted. You can find the answers (such as the one above) using the search bar. Please help keep the quality of posts high in this section of the forum, SoloLearn servers uncluttered, and app latency low by reviewing the following: https://www.sololearn.com/Blog/38/8-simple-rules-to-get-help-from-the-community/ Be sure not to miss the link to the Community Guidelines toward the bottom of the article. Happy coding! P.S. Please see the following post for a humorous interpretation (but still an earnest plea). https://www.sololearn.com/post/10362/?ref=app
