If the article element replaces the div element why are so many upvotes given to codes using html4 language?

sololearn teaches html5 and states that the article tag replaces the div tag. old code convention of Html4 used the div tag and did not have the article tag. almost all sololearn html codes use the div tags. it maybe because it is shorter and that people with prior experience in web coding did not learn html on sololearn.

I just found out that the article element can be considered like a blog post in a blog web page. Mind blown, now I get how to use the article tag.... Always learning, sometimes faster than others....
