There's a couple/few ways to interpret what you mean, so if this isn't what you want, please clarify who's using what, and how.

A keyword phrase to get you started:
"terminal multiplexor" (should pull up OSS like tmux, screen, etc)

You can also look into screen forwarding (like X11, VNC, RDP and screencasting for mobiles)

This is just one aspect though / you might mean something else?
