Why can I not simply type in "Int userInput = readInt(" type number:");"?.

I have done a Java class before and that's how they made me do the user input. It seems simple and easy compared to the scanner method.

There is no such a method as I checked it. And Sololearn prompts the input only if you collect input with Scanner .
