Any proffesional programmers here?
Hi people ! :) Im a graduated student with a bachelors degree in computer science. I would like to know what are the requirements to actually get a job in this field and also what kind of skills do you need to start a job. I feel like I didn't come out prepared enough and Im a bit terrified to actually get a job and not be able to do what they ask me for. I would love it if someone would share their experiences and what kind of knowledge you had to start . thanks a lot in advance.

Employers care most about what you can do for them. They want to know what value you're going to add. The best way to show you can add value is to have examples you can show them if things you've completed. These can be major projects you've completed in school that were significant or projects you've done on your own. Open source work is also often helpful as well.
Since you're going to be entry level they aren't going to be expecting you to have a ton of experience so don't be too worried. Just keep learning and practicing.
Also, depending on where you're interviewing you may have to do a coding interview. You should probably practice for these since they're incredibly different from a normal interview and normal coding. The worst case for this is that you'll be working on whiteboard so if possible practice on one of those. The questions are typically designed to see how well you can think through a problem and how well you know algorithms. You should be talking through EVERYTHING that goes through your head since that will help them understand you better. You should also be asking for any clarification questions you have since that can also be something they are looking for.
Hope that helps!
