How do the simple codes (print hello world) gets so many upvotes(10 - 12) and the codes which are useful get only some upvotes.

Abhyuday why should they? Besides, for this to work without many followers you need to promote your code somehow, in order for people with the skill level equal or superiour to yours to see it and be able to appreciate the work you've done. Provided that they will care at all to look at it and read it carefully. Or, if you want to gain the appreciation of the people with less experience, you need to make your code educational, clear and readable, with many explanational comments and make sure that it is going to be relevant to someone. Seems a bit more complicated to achieve that gain some followers (no skill required for that) and post 'hello worlds' which everyone is able to understand.

Knowing that you've done your best with the code is a sufficient reward in itself. It will only lead to constant disappointments if you are posting codes expecting acknowledgment and upvotes, in my opinion.

Upvotes are rather an indicator of how socially active and popular the author is than that of the code's quality (there are exceptions of course and often it is a combination of the skill and popularity).

I would say it depends on the number of your followers. I think people which are playing a lot of challenges gets a lot of followers. (I saw a profile: no codes, less activity in the q&a section, many challenges, 1k-2k followers).
Imagine you have 2k followers then it is possible that 10 people like your code without any important reason (maybe they like you or they want to motivate you).

I think an upvote gets meaning only when you know that the person who likes your code has really looked at it.

By the way: It is also interresting that people publish a hello world code. ;)

i think its more into encouraging a people who just start to continue.

i think normally people praised at the start of something(in this case is coding) are more likely to continue what they're doing and likely to aim higher

Taste or they will just keep posting "hello world" codes rather than do any progress and stop being 'beginners'? Why not if it is so much encouraged?
Thankfully it doesn't seem to be the case. No one really cares about beginners if not for feeling good about themselves (and maybe gain some new followers along the way) by encouraging them with their precious upvotes.

Better save your sanity and stop noticing all those toxic things altogether.

Good answers everyone but the people who like the simple codes should also like the codes in which the person has done some hard word and has used his knowledge. Beginners and followers are on one side and hard work and knowledge on one side.
