Yes I agree, I must say that Python is most likely the best language to start with as it is relatively easy to learn and used so broadly across the world. After Python I went on to learn java, the main difference quite obviously between programming languages is their syntax. However, always keep in mind that knowing one language inside out is much better and valuable that knowing +5 vaguely!
