C or C++ is good . If you want to start with something easy I think python will be a better choice.

Electronics students mostly use matlab..its similar to c++

Because you're studying electronic engineering, C and C++ are very interesting since these languages are close to the hardware level. Assembly language is even closer to the way the machine operates. Python is a so called high-level language that is great to get started. JavaScript is used very much for web sites and can also be used on the server. Java is very popular in many areas and is the language of choice for Android apps. Swift is a great new language that is now mainly used for iOS apps (Objective C was used for that in the past), but could branch out into more areas.

just see what you want to do...if you want to make websites...do html, css and JavaScript...and others too...search the internet for more information....
