Well this is not a good question .
Life quality just not depends upon money. Money is just a small factor.
There are various other factors such as family , neighborhood , living conditions etc. Which also determine your life quality.

Given example :
Consider a Software developer . He is paid much amount but what if he don't have good living conditions.
Whereas consider a app developer who is not able to develop a good app but is still happy with his family.

We can't just compare the two

I've met homeless people that were the happiest people I've ever met. A "better" life is nothing more than perspective upon ones life. That's why you often hear the phrase, "money doesn't buy happiness." That's also why many can't understand when someone that's rich/famous decides to kill themselves. From the outside, one simply sees money, fame, and all the things that we're TOLD is equal to happiness/success and don't realize that isn't what creates joy or satisfaction in ones life.

As others here have said, what's better is for you to pursue what makes YOU happy. It doesn't matter if you're paid nothing or paid amazingly; if you're doing what you're passionate about then you'll truly be ALIVE in your life and that's what you should do. The point and purpose of this life is to UNDERSTAND WHO YOU ARE and constantly create/recreate that as you move along through this place. Don't take for granted the blessings you've been given or the amazing people that come across your path to share this life with you. It's easy to blind yourself to everything around yourself and only recognize it when you no longer have it.

Remember who you are, create what you WANT TO BE, and never stop adjusting that as you move along through this life. You're amazing beyond belief and already have the means to be the happiest person on the planet even before you pursue career paths. If you follow WHO YOU ARE, and you're happy with that choice, you literally can't mess up this life; it's your only purpose. Don't waste the time of your life being unhappy or climbing up a ladder that's up against the wrong wall that doesn't ring true for you.

So what is your truth? What makes you smile even when you're simply thinking about it? That truth is what you should pursue; it's what will make you feel alive inside. Vibration is the truth of life, so make sure you're vibrating alongside creation and creating what you wish to experience during this life and each one you choose to experience after.

You can work hard your entire life and be miserable + live paycheck to paycheck. It's never been about working hard, but working from a place of passion and love. Trust me, it's easy to be an unhappy slave; that's working hard. Work smart, not hard. :) By working smart, you engage your passions and in a sense "never work a day in your life." If you have a dream, ruthlessly pursue it no matter what anyone says, including your parents, loved ones or society itself. It's easy to lay on your death bed one day and look back upon a life that you wish that you had done differently. Do you want to smile back upon your life or cry as your dreams die with you?
