Do you find the challenges useful in learning?

Question

I was expecting the challenges to be writing code to solve a task given and developing skills on the way. Instead, I’m given 30 seconds to parse expressions that would get you shot as a programmer that I could solve if I referenced the standards of the languages. I wish they would modify these challenges in some way to make them more productive towards learning.
