Why does this code work here on SoloLearn but not on desktop Python 3.7.3 interpreter?

I cannot get this code to output correctly in my desktop Python 3.7.3 interpreter. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help. I was just about to throw in the towel. I did some researching on what you said and I know now what I need to do to run the full program. It says I need to open a new file save my file as a .py file and then run it. The output will be shown in the Python shell. (Should*). Is this correct?
