Can a mechanical engg. having almost 2 years experience in automobile compnay, entering IT sector ?

As per now I am a fresher. I have completed my graduation in 2016. I have spend 2 years in an automobile company in pune. Now I want to join the IT industry just because of work culture, growth and balance life. I'm not saying that in core field you can't find it all. But now I really want to join the software industry and want to learn all the new technology in development area. How much time does it take to entering the industry as a professional ?

anyone can learn to program, and the time it takes to become a pro is really based on the amount of time your are dedicating to your studies and practices.

You can enter into IT world with no prior knowledge or experience. The only problem is it gonna take a lot of time to master it.
