There are many doomsday prophecies and equally many enthusiactic views that consider AI a blessing. Ultimately I think it comes down to the fact how Humanity is able to design and control this thing. Unfortunately, humanity does not represent a unified front in this, the research is done and applied by different companies and governments, pursuing their own business, military or political interests. Will they be able to step up together and establish a system of self control and cooperation in this field? At the moment this looks doubtful
