What was your first programming language and why?

QBasic on DOS 6.22, because I was bored and really got into an old computer one summer.

HTML in the mid 90's at age 14 because I wanted a website. turned out pretty sweet. especially when I figured out that if I build tables in MS Word 97 I could copy the source code straight into my pages. Saved alot of time
